Mundane

Silent, dissonant stranger was she unto herself

Steeped with contempt she hearkened
Sheltered by solitude
Tormented by chaos

Torn between frailty and coarseness she clamored
Disavowing a wretched persona
Crass in her bitterness of what she’d forgone
Blaming blame for inadequacy

A parched spirit dissuaded yet invited “routineness”
For she’d rejected the norm
With hope beyond a lifetime of reach

Who was she within the world?
What was the world within her?

Plagued by conflict of notion gone awry
Had led to the sameness she’d longed
To dispel of herself

Forever maligned to truths betrayed
She’d become the lies of an existence
She’d live to forgo
No longer herself
But the unrest her heart had invested in
For tomorrow’s negligence
Would surely incite the same

Mundane

I had a rain day today so I thought I’d do a drive by poem for my peeps! lol

Written a few years ago for a woman I loved dearly who could not see past the mundaneness of her own tumultuous life.
I suppose to a degree we all suffer one and the same as we seek to find purpose within the routine struggles we face daily.

Miss you all my friends.

Be blessed and rock on with your bad selves!!!
