I always find charcoal messy, but in the right hands – such as yours – it can produce some beautiful pictures Sylvia.

I just don’t believe my eyes. I could look for hours at this drawing. It is more then a life study; it is a story about a woman, with so much dimensions in it.

Wonderful work..

“charcoal messy” – laughs – When Sylvia gets into the charcoal it’s all over her, her hands, face, door handles and just about anything she touches, and she has no qualms about going outdoors in this state. Half her clothes have paint splatters on them. She’s a bit mad but I love her ‘cause she’s my mum.
Love this work. Only we hardly get to see it because it’s tucked away in one of her folios :(
