Hi Nicole! Yes it is. I changed the contrast difference in Paintshop. Then HDR in photomatix pro, and then took it back to paintshop to finnish it off! Thank you so much for your very kind comment!

These pigeons weren’t trained by me. As it happened, they were waiting for someone who’m they knew would come and feed them? Which I realised later. I have the photograph of the person. But haven’t done anything with it yet.

what an awesome HDR !! Sylvia im tring to get my head around this whole HDR thing… i have photomatix but so far havnt touched it..when you say its a single file do you mean there is not 3 ? i thought HDR had to be 3 images merged together..so what settings do you change on your camera so that it takes 3 of the same but with different exposures? is it AEB ? IM LOST !!!!!

Hi Loren! It can sound a little confusing?
What software do you use when you edit your photograph? I use Paintshop, some or a lot use Photoshop, which doesn’t really matter.
To create three images out of the one I have taken with one over exposed and one under? You need to take your work into your software and open Levels which usually is in the Brightness and contrast section.
You take the slider up one way to give your photograph an underexposed effect and click ok. Save it as with a new file name so not to loose the original. Once saved. Undo the underexposed effect and open levels again. This time, take the slider up to brighten your photograph to give it an overexposed effect and click ok. Save that one as again to create the third photograph. Now you have your three different exposed images just from one photograph.
But if you don’t have levels? You can create a simelar effect with curves, taking the middle line up to brighten and then down to darken.
I do hope that this is making sence to you Loren?
