MOON DUST

MOON DUST

I have taken this moon with a 60 to 300mm Sigma and a 2X converter. But it was still to far away, so I cropped the image and increased it in Paintshop! I also HDR’d it to bring out more detail. This is for the bordem competition on the subject of dust!

This looks wonderful. The moon is not easy to capture

    SylviaHardy

Thank you gothgirl, I am so glad you like it! It isn’t easy to capture. Having set the camera up on a tripod with a cable release, I went on manual settings and have taken several shots of different exposures. Under exposure by 2 stops usually because of the brightness and then kept adjusting the shutter spead to about 250th and faster or less to see which one worked the best. I also usually shoot in Raw, but this one was in JPG unless I converted it? Hope this is helpful?

Great image.. and well processed. I like how black the night sky is against the well lit Moon. I found the Moon harder to capture than I expected.. you tend to think it’s dark, need a long exposure.. then you end up with an over exposed elongated moon.

Cracking shot. The problem with the moon is it’s about 154,000 miles away and bugger’s moving!
