Sylvan is a photographer, film industry geek and owner of Studio Mimetica, a company that is dedicated to promoting the importance of biodiversity and our role in preserving nature’s great library.
He has worked in creative arts for about eighteen years with early days in graphic design and 3d art. The last decade has been primarily in film vfx, mostly developing tools for working with light and supervising pipelines. The need to be in the wild has often kept him away from the film world with a good dose of nature photography whenever the opportunity has arisen.
Most of the images you find here are nature subjects with an emphasis on plant life, texture and colour.. and with a little human euclidean strangeness thrown in, it’s nice to think that a picture of a city can help save a bit of forest.
A portion of all proceeds from the sale of these images are donated to the World Land Trust to buy back threatened biodiversity hotspots, thank you for your interest and support!
