Miracinonyx trumani - Running puma of North American Pleistocene by

Cheetahs and pumas are closely related. This cat is so similar to cheetahs it was once thought to have been an ancestral member of the genus. Recent DNA studies of its fossils reveal it is closer to pumas, cheetahs having branched from the lineage earlier than thought.

This artwork is currently available only through my website. Unfortunately I am in the process of recovering my large print-ready files after a hard drive crash.
