long exposure of spinning lights, moving from one side to the other?

  • Close , but what was the light source and what was moving ?

Oooohh, sorry I thought you wanted to know what we thought it looked like… not what it actually was. I think it looks like a Slinky… actually 3 Slinkys. That’s why I thought you put it in Accidental Images… because it looked like something else… not because it was ‘captured accidently’. lol Sorry, my mistake! It’s still cool!

  • Nothing to be sorry about !! It was submitted to Accidental Images as it was an idea on the spur of the moment with no idea what the result would be so the the useable image was effectivly an “accident”.

Is it a toy that has lights rotating and while it moves along?… time exposure?

  • I’m not sure how accurate the guess has to be as far as the group is concerned, but you have the idea, but not yet the right combination , one element of the three identified is correct !!

isn’t helmethead’s question essentially the same as mine? heh heh.
well, the light source looks to have a pinkish light, a blue light, a yellow light, a green light and an orangey red light, which probably flash on and off at different intervals.. not sure what it is yet though. will have to keep thinking

  • Yes tizzitm very similar , but you have two elements correct in your first guess .

i’d guess that it was perhaps the camera that was moving from one side to the other. still not sure what the spinning light source could be though.

  • Yes………the camera was being panned , hand held .

    maybe this?

  • Spot on in 6 . A camera club table top night , this was brought in and people wer taking shots from all angles until i tried a shot of it panning the camera from left to right with a one second exposure . Had two goes and this was the best , got the teashirt and went off to find another subject . tried to repeat but gave up so large element of luck to get ths shot !!
