2013 gained aFIAP and cPAGB accreditations.
Fantastic capture. What an aircraft!
Wow! magnificent- bet the noise was deafening-!!
Nice capture PhilIt was a bit of a dull day I heard..
Weather wise that is LOL
Nice to see this machine in the air again. I remember them in service at Yeovilton along with the Sea Vampires and Venoms!
Day started bright but went to r~#@*&t after lunch and rained so display was much curtailed . Cloud came down to 2000 and that was that ! This and a few more to be loaded was all I could get . Glad you all like this aircraft , one of my favourites , watched them off Kilve practice bombing before attacking the Torrey canyon back in the sixties .
Excellent capture mate.
What is the tail number on this aircraft? XS? In 899 mode, as to noise, try being underneath to check when the bleed band moves, engine is over 90%, now that IS loud.
Hertsman you must be older than you look, I don’t recall Vampire and Venom Squadrons operating at the same time as Sea Vixens, Scimitars and laterly Buccaneers, but that was all.
Yes! the Torrey Canyon, a mixture of 766 and some other Squadrons, cannot remember which ones were on shore at Yeovilton at the time, whoever was available; as it was, if I recall correctly, around Christmas/New Year.
Lost a few friends in these beasts.
Sorry , only got the two shots and neither have the tail number . hope it appears next season .Regards Phil.
