Tiny paws, pink nose, bright eyes shining.
Head resting on a step on the landing.
Tiny little meows, purring, tentatively exploring

Your first hour with us in your new home.

Tiny bowls of milk mixed with water
Looking for you, wondering where you were
A safe haven behind the books on the bookshelf

Your first sleeping place in your new home.

Chewed tassles off the new satin cushions
Playfully pouncing at us on the bed, we hid beneath the covers.
A little bundle curled up beside us at night.

Your favourite place to sleep as you began to grow.

Climbing the Budlea tree, getting stuck and scared
Shiva climbed the fence, I reached into the tree
We brought you back down to safety

Your first climbing adventures in your garden.

Prowling through blades of grass chasing butterflies
Playing and boxing with Shiva’s leg
A little Tiger in the making,

Your first hunting and ‘little boy’ adventures.

Wandering off and back two days later,
My hugs your purrs, what a relief
A warm little bundle at the foot of the bed again.

Your cosy sleeping spot for many months to come.

Midnight pitter patters leaping down the stairs
I have some cheese, you put your paw out to me
We share a snack of cheese, or semolina or cream

The beginning of ritual snacks in the early hours.

My car pulls up outside the house each evening after work
A gorgeous little face pops out, waiting to greet me
I pat you, we walk in, you purr and we talk about our day

The sharing between a beautiful cat and a lucky human, me.

Gentle paws touch my face, you wake me up, you want to play
I give you a cuddle you purr, I return to sleep
You return to your spot, we sleep again.

Sharing space, and precious memories.

Four weeks ago, while I lay in bed
You came up to me and gently put your little paw on my face,
I patted you affectionately, you purred and scampered down the stairs

The last time we spent together for many weeks.

I wandered where you were, we all did
Perhaps you were seeking the big world out there
Summer time and adventures for a young cat

We knew you were alive and well but didn’t know where.

This morning, 8.15am the call came
“I found your cat” the man said, he spoke very quietly,
We came to pick you up

Your body still, relaxed and silent.

Beneath your favourite tree, we opened nature’s bed for you
Orange beneath you, your little tiger flannel, blades of the grass you loved
Apples, plums from your garden, cheese in case you got hungry

Your little body rests in peace with our love right beside it

Dear little precious Tiger
With the gentlest spirit and kindest nature
You gave so much and we loved you

Thank you for sharing your time with us and for being you.

Although we are apart you will remain a part of us in spirit.

We love you Tiger.

oh, my eyes are watering. This is so beautiful. It’s heartbreaking when you lose them x

Sticky Flower – yes I can understand that anybody who loves animals willbe touched with this. Words can express so much but there’s always so much you can’t quite explain…it’s all about spirit, and he had such a beautiful soul.

    Oh Suzanne,

A beautiful and loving tribute to your Tiger. I’m so sorry for your loss…xx

  • Suzanne German replied

Hi Lisa, little Tiger brought so much to our lives, words can’t do it justice…even though they can say a lot. It’s been 2 days since he has been resting beneath his favourite tree in the garden…until it is time for his spirit to move on. I couldn’t reply earlier…still too raw….butI have faith in little Tiger’s spirit. x
