In 1497 over 500 years ago, John Cabot and his crew set sail for Asia aboard the original Matthew hoping to trade goods and commodities with the people who lived there. This is a replica of John Cabot’s ship which was built and is based at Bristol Harbour next to the SS Great Britain.
I took this shot on one of my many trips out with my trusty Fuji 10.2 Camera. I then (With a lot of cussing…the rigging went on for ever!) cut it from the original frame and turned the original black and white and then used a bump map filter over the top. I then used bump map on the coloured cut out picture of ‘The Matthew’ and placed it back into the original frame to create a selective coloured piece. Altered in GIMP.
