Manipulated photography. Manipulated in the Gimp program. The Guardians was inspired very much by my recent trip to Farleigh Hungerford castle on the other side of Bath. The tower in the background of this frame is called The Lady Tower.
Legend has it that her cruel and jealous Husband locked her in the tower to starve to death. But the local people took pity on her and would deliver her food at night. What happened to the poor lady is unclear. What I do know is there is a real and tangible feeling of loneliness about this ruin.
It is not hard when looking at Farleigh Castle, to imagine what it must have been like in its prime and it is certainly a very beautiful and mysterious place to visit.
