Steamer ERNSLAW operates from Queentown, NZ on Lake Wakatipu. The vessel has two coal-fired, fire tube boilers each with two furnaces generating steam to two triple expansion steam engines. At one time the lake area was poorly served by roads and ERNSLAW was one of several steamers that served lakeside communities and ranches. In fact, she is still registered to carry: 100 tons of cargo, or 1,500 sheep, or 200 bales of wool, or 70 head of cattle, although predominantly now is used as a cruise and entertainment ship.
Taken on a recent trip to Queenstown, texture overlay from Shadowhouse and hue adjustments.
