When Rama’s brother Lakshman lay dying, Hanuman grew to giant size and leaped to the Himalayas to find the herb that would save him. Unable to distinguish it, he uprooted the entire mountain and placed it on the palm of his hand. On his return, the sun began to rise. Since he had been told that Lakshman must have the herb before the sun rose, Hanuman grabbed the sun and held it under his arm while he completed his journey. The herb was given to Lakshman, and all was well.

Those of you who have attempted Hanumanasana will admire him all the more.

Hello, I have been drawing and writing since I could hold a pencil. I began as an old school printmaker, worked as a graphic designer, and then spent time in editorial illustration. Found in my Art Lab are Frankenstein marriages of flora and fauna, sweet and monstrous, people and animals, big and little – surrealism with a sense of humor.
