Maiden, Mother, and Crone,
These bones have known
Them all, exquisitely. Fair
Haired and blithe, wandering
Through the hours with nary
A care or trouble. Maiden, formed
From the feathered womb, or tomb,
Silently moving, delighted in life
And falling in love with tomorrow,
Dancing forward, yet exhausted
With worry, wondering at times
If the moments spent learning
How to be the worrier were well
Taken. Oh, teacher, students, we
All grew. Silver strands, lingering
Shadows, the Crone approaches.
The embrace of eternity is now
The shawl that warms these bones.
And I have been all, sweet gladness,
Maiden, Mother, and Crone.
