The Abbey Church of Saint Peter by

Our planned tour to Stonehenge changed the morning we were to leave, and instead of Salisbury, Avebury, and Silbury Hill, we were driven to Bath and Windsor Castle. We made the best of it, disappointed as we were. We spent some time walking in the town, which is really quite a lovely place. This is The Abbey Church of Saint Peter, Bath, commonly known as Bath Abbey. It was founded in the seventh century, re-organised in the tenth century and rebuilt in the twelfth and sixteenth centuries. Bath Abbey is one of the largest examples of Perpendicular Gothic architecture in the Western region of the UK.
