R.I.P. little Dollar

For those that remember my images of Dollar well this will be the last one. Dollar was chewing a Rawhide bone which was highly approved by his Vet but the bone got stucked in his throat and he choked on it. Dollar was only 16 weeks young and one of the cutest little fun Puppy that I have met. Dollar was 8 weeks young in this photo.
I am so sad for this little guy and of course for his owners, my friends Christine and Brandon who found him when they came home.

    Ohh…I am heartbroken for this little sweetheart…(Never leave a puppy alone with these things – as Dollar’s owners tragically found out, they are not safe..!...Even adult dogs can have trouble with them,)...Beautiful memento of this baby Susanne.

    oh, that brought tears to my eyes :( please extend my condolences to the owners and for yourself as well. Your love of animals & your subjects shine through your images and I know you’re torn up over his death.
    Nevertheless, it is a beautiful portrait of Dollar, one that will be cherished.

    Oh, I’m sooo very sorry. This is so heartbreaking. I had the very same thing happen with a Maltese pup and one of those thin chewbones. He was just the most precious little guy. I’m so sorry.

    OMG, I am so sorry that you lost your baby also, this is so sad and those rawhide should be taken of the market since they are so dangerous.

    There are several here that had bad experience or death because of the rawhide so yes you are so right Cheri, this is just horrible.

    this just breaks my heart! to think my little puppies eat rawhide all the time, I have heard warnings about it before, but never paid to much mind to it, I will have to rethink this.

    I give mine rawhide too but only the Dingo Brand, but from now on only when I am home. If you scroll 6 comments up to Linda she has lost her Puppy also to Rawhide and if you read Mistis comment below she has had a bad experience also but she was at home.

    Well that stinks! I do give my dogs rawhide but I will not give it to them unattended. I have seriously had a dream that one of my dogs choked on one. The dream sucked but taught me a lesson. I only give them small chews for this very reason. Im so sorry to the owners!! I can’t even imagine the pain they feel! BTW, georgeous portrait!
