Barbara is an endangered Cassowary and is reputed to be almost 50 years old, I found her strolling through the rainforest as surprised to see me as I was her.

that is wonderful..! I have just watched the show on ABC tonight and have fallen in love with them all over again, had to get on here to see more of them. this pic is superb with the eyelashes,and cheeks poking out. they truly are special birds. thanks for sharing. I love it too that she is called Barbara, what else could you call her..?

thanks Jenny, I have joined … She is a Bingil Bay bird…although some of the other Cassowaries on my site are Licuala, that is a great cassowary spotting place
yeah and the little creek, is it Lacey Ck?? I walk down that way lots, not for a wee while tho! and the hill at Bingil bay with the big lizards and the jetty there too! haven’t been down a while as packing up to move house (going to Etty bay road).
the creek is in Bingil as well….Etty bay road will be lovely…
