Between Hope and Despair

This poem goes with my painting entitled “Between Hope and Despair.”

Despair in raging blackness
Assaults my lone ascent.
My footing slips
My fingers grip
And day may come too late.

Keep holding now
And fix the grip.
I’ll close my eyes and wait.

Kind of a Dark NIght of the Soul experience. Love the redemptive power infused in this piece. Congrats!
