The Father and the Son say, Come

This work is done in graphite pencil.
It depicts the grand-fatherly face of God the Father on the body of Jesus Christ on the cross.
He seems to be beckoning the viewer.

Nicely done. I appreciate the fact that you didn’t depict the face of God as the stereotypical “man with flowing white beard and hair”. The bent nail sticking out the back of the post is also a nice touch – makes it realistic.

Thank you, Paul. Yes, the Father needed a kindly, sympathetic face. He’s also beaconing you to come. Thanks for your comment.

Susan I love the way you have chosen to depict God as Jesus on the cross. It speaks a thousand words and drives home the point that God the father…His father and our Father, suffered along with Jesus in order to redeem us. Beautiful work.

Thank you for telling me your impression.
It is my hope to reveal a true loving Father, in contrast to a fire throwing Zeus.
