The Vervet Monkeys we find on our explorations in South Africa… have a very interesting family structure.
This nursing female is probably not even this little one’s mother.

The babies provide an excellent avenue, and It is so apparent that the young ones are used to trip your emotions to get food…
A nursing female will walk up and take a baby from another nursing female to start nursing and move closer to the humans in hopes she will convince you to toss her food.

At first I thought it was a bit harsh but then I realized the whole pack of monkeys went along with this order of business.
I suppose one could look at this behavior and see the adage
“It Takes A Village To Raise A Child”… but it is also some what amusing
that the kids are used in an effort to get handouts!

BTW, handouts to the wild monkeys of the game parks is strictly forbidden.
3" plus long teeth of an adult is another deterrent!

I enjoy a full time career as a working Fine Art Artist and Natural Lifestyle Photographer.
To me, my art and photography is the best way to express what I see around me.
I also teach both mediums and I host 3 and 4 day Art and Photography Workshop Retreats through my private studio on my desert property in Nevada/Arizona.
I formed Elbow Canyon Fine Art & Photography Retreats several years ago to offer my students a unique one-on-one instruction.
