I did a series last year… of the Governor’s Buffalo Round Up we were part of in the Black Hills of South Dakota…
Looking through the files I have of all I tried to capture… I tried to take pictures when I would see the Iconic essense of our American Bison.
This is one old guy that the wranglers said had been out on the prairie for close to 25 years…don’t know how long they live, but after the yearly health screening, he would always pass with flying colors and turned back out with the herd.
The American Bison ran a close second as to what I always felt our National Symbol should have been…
This painting is an acrylic with a linseed oil and varnish wash.
