In the Southwest, fences are made mostly with what you find from torn down old buildings.
“Mrs Becker’s Fence” is a representation of how these fences add to the look of the lifestyle and sometimes become works of art.
The desert does not have too many trees so when you want to build a fence you either use mud bricks or you start a scouting mission to collect lumber left over and not to ravaged by the desert.
And of course there is always the local lumber company… but pulling supplies from the desert seems to be the secret of the artistic Desert Fence.
