Lil' Bit Is A Happy Guy!
Many of my watchers b-mail me about “Lil’ Bit” (AKA Skinny) ...we call him Skinny around the plantation… however many of you know him as Lil’Bit …the little white Chihuahua that addopted us last winter.
He survived the wilds of the Nevada /Arizona desert for what we feel to be about 3 months. Eating chipmunks, bugs and maybe an occasional slow rabit…LOL, Lord only knows what he did for water let alone food!
Long story short…after finding him near death on our front porch, we brought him into our family and growing pack of dogs…he had HUGE fear and aggression issues and was a downright dangerous little dog.
But I never gave up on him and he never gave up on me…In the beginning I was told by three Vet’s and canine authorities to put him to sleep… why take on a dangerous dog when there are so many good ones out there that need homes?
Well BECAUSE!!! ...I am just not a quitter and I just knew there was something special about this little dog.
I finally caught him in an ungarded moment…we see more and more of these now…he relaxes and just tends to the business of being a dog.
Still no smiles, but I promise… the FIRST one I can capture, you all will be the first to see!
Thanks for viewing…

WOnderful capture Susan….so glad Lil Bit is doing well after all the ordeals. Just have to love this little one !!
Susan Bergstrom replied
Thanks Sean…they say when a fear based dog will chew a raw-hide…they have become comfortable and confident in their environment…for many, many months he would eat as fast as he could and then go hide…old survival instincs. But now he will lay in the middle of the room and chew his chewies…PROGRESS!!!!

Great lighting on this, looks like he is loving that pig ear.
Susan Bergstrom replied
I was very surprised that he would let me get down on the floor with him and this close…I actually saw the sun effect from way across the room and was just praying he would not get scared and leave when I finally got my butt down on the floor to get the shot…LOL then I had to figure out how to get up!
maxy
Oh my heart is so warmed by your kindness and breaking from his suffering and attitude due to such a tough life… What a beauty and so worth the effort you are putting forward. This little love, I’m sure, will turn around, just when you least expect it, and look to you… with shining eyes! I just know it! xoxo!!! Huge hugs to you both!
Susan Bergstrom replied
Thanks Maxy…he is a joy to watch recover from desperation to contentment.!

To heck with the vets. We have instincts just as animals do and yours said that Lil’ Bit could overcome. I am so happy that he is relaxing more and not running away. The power of love. Thank you for the picture and update. ♥
Susan Bergstrom replied
Yes, usually when you get this close he quick goes and hides…but finally he is relaxing enough to let you in his space…thanks Lori!
