You Got WHAT Removed???

You Got WHAT Removed???

Yes…Lil’Bit (aka-Skinny) got well enough to go and finally see the Dr. about the neuter surgery! MAJOR advancement in our quest to help Lil’Bit become a happy little Taco Dog.

For those of you just now reading about this little guy…we rescued him from the wilds of the Nevada desert…Found him on our front porch in a little ball, starved and near death.

I woke up a few days ago and saw that he had gone in and laid down in the pet travel crate on his OWN!!!
I silently said my prayers and thank-you’s to any unseen force that may have finally given me a break…and I walked over quietly and closed the door.

Well this wasn’t what he was expecting so we had some whining and fuss… but I was too busy calling the Vet hoping beyond hope they could see me and what a golden opportunity this was.
With luck they were able to work us in…it was quite the excersize for the Vet and her techs to now get Lil Bit out of the crate without the signiture biting response…

I just told them I was going to leave…I didn’t want to hear or know how they decided they were going to handle him…to be careful and Good Luck!
Today I picked him up and all went off with out a hitch…needless to say, he is not the Favorite of the Vet’s office but they all seemed like they too felt they had passed a test being able to handle this over aggressive little 3 pound dog with GREAT BIG TEETH!!!
So we are home now…just awaiting recovery on his part and the hormone levels to slowly reduce so we can start a new chapter.
Wish us luck…I took this capture when he finally woke up in one of his favorite spots and told him the news…Thanks for taking the time to have a read and maybe a chuckle…

I will say this again. He is fortunate to have you! He looks adorable and the title is perfect. Let’s hope the surgery will make him a better “male” dog!!! It didn’t help my dog very much, but then again, I don’t know what he would have been like if he hadn’t had surgery!

  • Susan Bergstrom replied

Yes…that is all we can do is hope…one day at a time Barbara…thanks for viewing and the kind comment!

  • Mary Campbell

    Mary Campbell

Well I tell you I once adopted an abandoned dog, who was abused by his former owner. With a little bit of extra love he became the best dog I ever owned. And the sweetest even with little kids. Just goes to show they can be saved.

  • Susan Bergstrom replied

Thanks Mary…I shall never give up…Skinny (aka Lil’Bit) is really a great dog…he just has trust and fear issues…one day at a time…one day at a time…

Awwww Susan…You are so sweet to take this little guy in. Hopefully the vet visit will calm him down. He sure is a cute little thing. Dogs can get over their fears pretty easy sometimes. An amazing story. The little dog reminds me of a long ago Chihuahua, but he landed right on his feet, ruling the roost for 20 years. I wish you a long and happy future with this tiny dog. His story is terrible to read, but his new life will be one of happiness, joy & love. He will learn to trust and repsect you. You have a remarkable patience. I salute you

  • Susan Bergstrom replied

Thanks so much for taking the time to read about Lil’ Bit…I just posted an update which I hope you will get a chance to read…he is one tough little dog and yes, i think in time he will be a content little guy!

  • Rita Agostinelli

    Rita Agostinelli

Susan….I am just now seeing this capture and read your words! I had many chuckles as I read through your update!! Very nice….Skinny looks like he is doing well in this capture…he is in some great hands…he knows it! You and your husband have done so well with him and I’m sure the work continues but his love is worth it as he most likely feels love from you all!! Awesome story….love it!!! :)))

  • Susan Bergstrom replied

LOL…I just had to post this picture with my update…I did actually take it just as he woke up and I told him he was minus some baggage!!! Thanks Rita…as i said in my other comment to you…I would love to do a children’s book…just not knowing where to start!!!
    It would be awesome though!

  • Bellavista2

    Bellavista2

You don’t those Lil’Bit they are more trouble than they are worth!lol:=}Love reading about Lil’Bit,maybe need a Lil’Bit Fanclub:=} Or Lil’Bit can be a mascot for all the other abused and battered animals to raise funds for a shelter or shelters,or for just awareness:=]...just thinking:=]

  • Susan Bergstrom replied

Yes, I have had several people suggest that I write a Children’s book and I think it would be awesome…however it all seems a bit overwhelming and really not knowing where to start… Love your ideas…now just write the book for me!!!! LOL …a collaboration so to say!!!

  • Bellavista2

    Bellavista2

    Thats a great idea! I would not mind giving a rough draft a go….(childrens book), something too teach kids love and compassion to animals, because I found when you reach out to kids they have a habit to teach thier parents through there innocence and insightfulness. Like add photos to the words, something small simple:=}

  • Susan Bergstrom replied

Knock yourself out…you might want to read all the other installments, I think there are 4 or 5 in all…to get a better foundation on how all of this evolved…anxious to see what you come up with… could do my photography as illustration… I have MANY captures of Skinny (Lil’ Bit is his RB name…LOL)...these little Taco Dogs are so photogenic and can show such emotion! I will b-mail you my email address so we can communicate outside RB if that is okay?

  • Rita Agostinelli

    Rita Agostinelli

Susan….Bellavista has hit the nail on the head with her relpy to you! Just take it one day at a time… I know getting a book together ~ even a picture book entails a lot…but the results would be fabulous! :)) It would be wonderful to see Lil’Bit’s stories unfold into a storybook and touch so many young lives! :)

  • Susan Bergstrom replied

Well our literary company is now Three!!! Your the Test Bed, Bellavista will create a rough draft and I will supply the photography and adjust the narritave!!! LOL! I love it when a plan comes together and there wasn’t a plan!!!

  • Rita Agostinelli

    Rita Agostinelli

Susan…that is fabulous!!!! I love it…. Being the Test Bed sounds GREAT! This is sooo fun! You are too funny!! Don’t let it be a pressure though….let it all come together in a relaxed way! It is going to be magnificent!!! :))
