We live in a world of light. As I make art, as I draw, my intention is to recreate the light that I see within and without myself. I am sharing my inner landscape through the visual illuminations that I create. As an artist and a teacher, it is my goal to bring love and light to everyone with whom I come in contact. The images and writings in this book are the results of my own journey of self discovery. They come from, dreams, visions and the personal interpretations of my experience on the path of light.
My images are influenced by my love of nature, my meditations and the questions I have asked about who am I? Why am I here? What is my life’s purpose? It is my greatest wish that as you experience the images on this site, you will begin to get a sense of the inner light I wish to create, and through some of my writings, discover questions you can ask about your own inner landscape..
My passion for exploring began as a child lying on my back looking at the night sky and imagining I was expanding into the infinite space of the universe. Completely unaware of what that experience was about I could lie like that for hours and imagine all kinds of beautiful and interesting worlds. Making art didn’t happen until much later when I discovered how important it is for me to be creative. I found I could best express my ideas and passions through ceramic sculpture and drawing. I find that by drawing on black paper with Prismacolor pencils I am able to build layers of color that result in images full of light. While many artists use this technique, I find this is a perfect vehicle to tell my visual stories and show that ultimately everything and everyone is of the light. Art making for me involves going within and touching the universal space I first discovered as a child.
