“The Prom” is a popular holiday Australian destination at any time of the year with its offerings of pristine beaches. walking trails and Tidal River.
In summer the river dwindles to a small stream, coloured by the tannins from the native grasses, but there is more than enough water upstream beyond the pedestrian bridge for anglers and kayakers alike.
The nearby campsite makes this an ideal and popular holiday spot. The National Park Information Centre is located next to the campsite and a small shop can also be found here carrying a limited range of fresh foods, bottled water, and souvenirs.
But be warned, do not wait till arriving at Tidal River before re-fuelling your vehicle as the pumps do run dry ,at times, with the heavy summer demands.
