Most of people in my country immediately recall the famous animated film “Hedgehog in the Fog” when they see my picture. It made me think of how deep subconscious can be rooted inside, that I never remembered the childhood impressions while drawing this picture.
See and judge for yourself if there is any reference:

Sergei, so glad you posted this video and image together. I watched the video over morning coffee and what a pleasure it was. So cute and the music is beautiful.Your image has some similarities but I think maybe the title is what made them think of the tale perhaps. Your work is always a joy to behold. I was thinking of mushroom tea when I saw the image. Perhaps he had had too much? Thus the look on his face and the hallucinogenic effect of some shrooms, LOL really, it is where my mind went. Sorry. xoxo

  • Thank you, Donna. I believe you’re right about the title, but in Russian title has only “Hedgehog” without “Tea”. I think I need to change it here too. And let the link stay just for fun. Mushroom tea is a good idea, of course, you mind went to the right place

Great work! I loved the video too. Sometimes memories from childhood come back in other forms in adulthood.

  • Thank you, Philip. There’s a truth in your words about memories and forms
I’m glad you liked the film – In 2003 “Hedgehog in the Fog” was named “№1 Animated film of all the time” in a survey of 140 critics and animators from different countries

Such an wonderful film.I think it might have had some influence, mainly the blank stare on his face reminds me of the end of the film. This is a fantastic work!

  • Thank you, Diane. I’m glad you’ve watched the film to the end :-)
