I could recommend a couple of good books…. Extraordinary work, Sergei. I recognize many things that bore me among those fiery souls.

  • Thank you, Sheila
I’m interested to know what the books are.
No doubt many of those souls are still among us :-)

Oh! Once again, I see my uncle in this figure… (could it be he’s haunting me, or what??) Love the posture and expression: it’s as though he’s saying, “Hell – I HATE this job.” The dog is probably wishing he were elsewhere too… I am not a big believer in the Biblical Fires of Perdition but tales of demonic beings permeate mythologies around the world, whoever (or whatever) they really indicate. Hm. Once again you’ve inspired what could be a long discussion here but I’ll resist! In the meantime, hope you’ll add this one to Cutting Edge. Brilliant work!

  • Thank you, Nadya.
You cannot imagine how much I appreciate your “long discussions”. As long as I finish a work it rarely drags my attention back, but your comments awaken old dusty thoughts on the shelf. Of course, in this case, the well-known symbols of religion were used. Needless to say, it is all about human values again :-)

I guess that too much of a good thing after a while starts to get boring, don’t you think? Love his expression and slouched pose. As Alenka wrote "it’s quitting time.

  • Thank you very much, Iris. It is the second version of the work, first one was a little smaller and so important for one of my friends, so now it’s supposed to be hanging somewhere in Geneva, Switzerland.
