to invite you to a card game
He said, If you win
I will give you fortune and fame
If you loose
I will take all you have in you name
You told your concerned friends
You have mastered all card games
So you accepted the Devil’s invitation to His card game
Don’t gamble with the Devil
You have so much to loose
Lady luck seemed to be on your side
for the cards seemed to be dealt in your favor
As the game played on
It seemed like the Devil was feeding His card right into your hand
Don’t gamble with the Devil
You have so much to loose
The game was coming to a close
A smile on your face arose
Fore the whole game seemed to be played in your favor
The strange thing you noticed
The Devil didn’t show any remorse
of loosing the game in his behavior
Don’t gamble with the Devil
You have so much to loose
When you both thew down your cards
Your jaw dropped down to your knees
For what did your eyes see ?
The Devil had the winning hand
A smile arose on his face
As he said
You thought you were going to beat the Devil
at his own game ?
You poor fool
You were only being deceived
Now pay me
what you owe me
Give me your soul

I’ve been a compulsive addictive gambler in my time; often going to attend GA/Gamblers Anonymous meetings. Once the compulsion has already started; then, it’s almost next to impossible to stop! I’ve gambled on just about anything and everything in my time; ranging from one armed bandit machines, national lottery, football pools, baseball, tennis, cricket, snooker, racing cars, dogs, horses, black jack, poker, will it snow on Christmas day, -etc. The only thing I learned from having developed my gambling addiction was sometimes you win; which is just enough to tempt you to keep on gambling; but, most times, you loose…especially, when you add it all up in the long run. Over the years, I’ve both gambled and lost around 80 grand +; which is the cost of say a whole entire house! Currently, I’m unemployed; the only way I can find to not bet is when I’m totally flat broke. And, even then if it’s possible to either steal/borrow/or else, get credit; then, I would go and bet with that money, instead. The addictive gambler no longer trusts or believes in themselves anymore; neither does anybody else around them; including friends/family/-etc. I read somewhere that addictive gambling has officially been classified as being a form of mental illness. As any serious addict knows it’s not easy to stop; even when you are not gambling; you are still gambling in your own mind’s eye; so if you were watching TV, and, your fav. football team were to win; you’d be thinking to yourself I lost because I didn’t I bet on it?! No matter how many times you loose…you still believe in the illusion that you can and will win. Yes, in my own very bitter experience, I’d say that gambling is indeed playing with the Devil himself; because it really all amounts up to killing yourself. I’ve been to GA/Gamblers Anonymous meetings where the gambling addict confessed that they had gone and slit their own two wrists; due to gambling non stop 24/7/366…as they were unable to even think of doing anything else when your mind keeps saying that ‘money is everything’! And, even after having gone and slit their wrists; after having been hospitalized for it; they still want to go on gambling…! My best advice is don’t both getting yourself with gambling in the first place; otherwise, you may find yourself having drawn up a contract with the Devil that you just can’t get out of; gambling is a noose which constantly strangles you right up until when you are dead!

Paul, You should thank God He has open up you eyes to the entrapment of Gambling. I met a guy who’s car was filled almost to the top of his seats with lottery tickets, and he said that was only one weeks worth. My father always played the lottery, and bought Reader’s Digest, and entered their sweepstakes, for years and never won anything from them. People at work have a lottery pool at work, and they keep talking about the day they will all quit their jobs when they win. Well they are still working for the same company, and still throwing away their money. When you try to reason with them, and convince them that it is better to just save their money. they say that I throw away my money when I see a movie. But the truth is, when I purchase a move ticket, I receive admittance to see the movie, but when they spend their money on a lottery ticket , their is a 75% chance they will get nothing. Their is a 20 % chance they will win a small amount of money, and 5% chance they will win a lot of money. In my opinion, and from reading the Bible, gambling is a sin, because it is a device to obtain once’s need out side of trusting God to provide for your needs . It also is bad stewardship of the finical blessing God has given you.
Addictions cause a lot of destruction in our lives, and the live of the people around us. Human are weak vessels of clay, and need God’s to help rid themselves of addictions. So pray to God for His help, and He will strengthen you, and Guide you in how to kick the habit of gambling.
