Amazing photo! Perfect composition and what an environment. You’ve always got to love, as a photographer, when mother nature brings her best game to the table and this sunset really sets this shot apart from other environmentals that would be taken in the same place at a different time. Stunning photograph, well composed, very clear but above all, with magical light! Well done with HDR :)
Not to forget, thanks for your comment on my Morning snow at Hochjoch, Austria. To get closer and still retain the reflections and the mountain ridge as a background would be a bit tricky: taking into account that the height difference between the lake and the ridge behind it is about 300m, I was still quite high above the lake, and the path didn’t lead in the direction to the lake. In fact, it continued back and to the left from where I stood making this photograph; the path you see on the shore of the lake leads to nowhere, only along a part of the shore… When I descended a bit, I found that I can’t get nice reflection anymore.

Thanks for taking your time to comment. I glad that you tried to get a closer shot of the lake. Some times it is what it is. I tried to to take a postcard shot of the Ludwig’s castle down in Fussen, however after trekking about 5km at 30 degree elevation, I realized that the postcard picture was possibly taken from a chopper. I had to give up.

Squealia, I shot 3 raw pictures at 0, +2, -2 EV and so it is a real hdr. I used hdr to balance the lighting in the picture. I didn’t push the shadow details, but recovered a lot of highlights. Thanks for the comments and the bubble mail. Will work on a calendar as soon as I fix my computer.
