welcome to my world.
This is a letter from one living girl
who plans to create a difference,
who plans to make amends,
who plans to accomplish goals,
who plans to remain a good friend.
I resolve to use my memories
To teach those around me a lesson
That no one should be alone,
That no one should feel undone,
That someone is there in the dark,
That someone can give them love.
In the past I fought depression
Winning, came out of it above
I wish to share my story
And give out a helping hand
To friends, family, and strangers
Together strong we stand.
I resolve to stand by my parents
Help them to get through
That no matter who I love
I will always love them too.
I wish they’d understand
Stop trying to put me down
To try to learn some acceptance
Instead of leaving me to drown.
Love isn’t just black and white
There are some shades of gray
It’s about two special people
And emotion that won’t fade away.
I resolve to stay in school
Make good marks and pass
With ever flying colors
And confidence that will last.
I’ll get closer to a degree
A medical career of success
Fight for my spot in a crowd
Refusing to crumble under stress.
I resolve to always be there
For the people who need me the most
My very special friends
From the East to the West Coasts.
I’ll listen and all-night chat
Bring calm when they are mad
Hold their hands in the darkness
Rejoice when they are glad.
Their smiles bring me pride
Because then I know I’ve done right
I’ve brought them a little sunshine
Our futures together are bright
Hey 2010, a warm welcome!
I’m glad you could join me this morning.
I resolve to make this year better
And take to heart all that you may bring.
A poem/letter to bring in our new year. A reflection on the past and resolutions for the future.
