Profile

I’m a freelance designer, painter and random artist living in the United States. I love traditional Japanese art and textiles (I have a collection of kimono) and I’m also influenced by the modern anime and kawaii genre.

My ideal job would be to design adorable toys and pretty fabrics for children. (I already love cute things, so doing it for a living would give some validity to my hobby of collecting stuffed animals and Hello Kitty wallpapers.)

I also love cosplay, but I’m not very good at it, so I instead enjoy seeing other people’s cosplay sewing projects and photoshoots.

I like wafuku (traditional Japanese clothing,) hanfu (an old type of traditional Chinese clothing,) hanbok (a type of traditional Korean dress,) steampunk fashion, elegant goth-loli and Victorian clothing of almost any type, but the only one of those I’ve collected very many of (or know that much about) currently is Japanese clothing.

• Bible Gateway (tons of free, fully searchable online Bibles in more than 50 translations and almost every language. A great tool for study! There’s also a FireFox toolbar for the site, which I highly recommend.)

It’s free, secure, open-source, highly customizable, usable as a CMS and has hundreds of plugins and themes available- you can even use it with a store plugin to power an online store! I use WordPress for my blog and as the software for running my online store. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!)
• Immortal Geisha Forums (HUGE online kimono, kitsuke and geisha forums; much of what I know about kimono, I learned from the people there. I’m a member of almost every English-language kimono community, but this is the best one. Check it out and see.)
• Abort73 (I dare you to read this.)
• GoodSearch (a search engine that donates to the charity/non-profit of your choice when you search)
• Ebay (you can buy anything there. for cheap.)
• MoonBattery (fun with liberalism. My #1 favorite politically-incorrect blog.)
• OneManga Online Manga Reader Scanlations updated weekly, including famous series like Naruto, Bleach, Tsubasa and xxxHOLIC. Also carries rare titles I’ve never even heard of, after more than a decade of anime fandom. 0_o
• Shana Logic: Indy Art and Cute Fashion Sells fashion, art and toys made by independent online artists and crafters. The items are stylish, unique and not something you can buy in bulk at a chain store. Plus, your purchases will support online artists just like you! • MeyerWeb : CSS Edge When I was still a ‘baby’ web designer, it was this site which impressed me with the wonderful beauty of CSS. I first learned how to code by looking at his source coding.
