You can take everything i have - 4 PANEL SERIES - By Ram Castillo

“You can take everything i have… Just don’t leave my side now”. -A quote from a song called ‘Dont Slow Down’ By: Copeland.

This 4 panel series explores the struggle of young boys, in the hope that one day, they become great men.

Clouded by a rush of fear, confusion, abuse, neglect, violence, anger, loneliness and misguided environments. These can also be overcome by courage, faith, hope, people, trust, respect, life and above all…

love.

My intention was to make you feel as if you were 5 years old again. But for some reason my perspective of a 5 year old in today’s world seems like it’s leaped a few years. Maybe its because i now know the effect childhood can have on the life we lead. Like the boy by the pond, creating a ripple. One small decision can change the rest of our lives.

“What will you leave to the next generation? Are you building your lives on firm foundations, building something that will endure?” – Pope Benedict XVI (WYD 08 – Sydney, Australia)

Wonderful sentiments. I think you are projecting much needed awareness into those who view this piece. We all have choices with how we deal with experience and confusion. We are all born into a world that is confused yet we all have the choice to go deeper into what we are born into and create a more aware environment for all.

Cheers for your input Tony. I really appreciate your thoughts. The trick is to ride the inspiration train while is available. I think as an artist its our responsibility to use it while its there. Such was the case with this piece.
