Where do you go when the world has failed you,
when those you sought to teach would not listen?
Where do you go when your joy fades to sorrow,
your oceans die, while your message washes in on a lonely tide,
and your brokenness is but a parting reminder for hard hearts to open?
When the oceans rise and your song is no longer heard, what shores await you….?
Where will you go?
And might we with our healing hearts follow?
Following on from my story about the mass whale stranding here in the south west I felt compelled to create something more…… to honour these beautiful creatures.
Then I viewed the following amazing short clip (shame it’s an Optus advert lol) and wanted to share this with everyone…..

This is a moving work (and the song you sent me is mesmerizing). Years ago, when music was still recorded on vinyl records, I had a marvelous 45 rpm record of Whale Songs. I would listen to their haunting musical language before I went to sleep. Thank you so much for your art and the reminder about the wondrous sounds of the sea!
I totally relate….these sounds are like some primevial notes that reach far within our souls…….and touch chords….
I remember many years ago visiting Wave Studios down on the coast, where some Native americans were visiting and playing their music with the local Noongar (Aboriginal) tribe in a limestone natural amphitheatre…… I was told that at the studio above the cliffs, they were mixing this amazing collaboration with whale song! Just the thought of such a blend gave me absolute goosebumps! There is something so haunting about natural sounds and rhythms….. I am glad you enjoyed this……xx
