This and the other one “sunset” have fanstastic colours and it feels like I can stare at it for hours….

it just sucks you in, noy your atypical rendering, slightly ambiguous with rich/strog line/colour.. hmmm nice piece

aw, thanks everyone. I love your comments, esp being from other artists. They are meant to be earthy, transcendant and peaceful views.

I was inspired by an Aboriginal artist, who had painted a cnavas of a few thick, strong ‘bars’ and thinner, bold, white lines. As I painted my own version, it took on a life of its own, dark and light shades, and then I digitally altered it. Blurred the sharpness, added a ‘reflection’ of gold, like its the sunset in water.

I’ve just moved into a new place, which has a very 70’s feel, so I’ve been using lots of browns, reds, oranges and greens (not seen here). Sunsets and kitsch were big then (or did it become kitsch?) Anyways, the 70’s were very unpolished and earthy, and I’ve enjoyed this style!

    cheers again! xS

    thanks Dawson! a lovely description!

the sea conjures up the idea of the sun reflecting on the water (as this now does!)

I love vibrant colour-everything seems extra alive!

appreciate your time-you are such an awesome photographer!
