sea of love

Samantha Van Stralendorff

sea of love

It began as a pattern and a search for abstraction and happiness in shape.
It turned into circles and stripes.
Before I knew it, all eyes were looking at me: when I just need to be me.
Are they part of me, or something that passes. Or both.
Everything is one when immersed in the sea of love.

thanks Lys. I like the blue too.

Abstractness is a great thing to achieve-especially when we as human see stories in everything!

tis a beauty, do you really just start out and paint??? I am lacking energy and inspiration, tho booked into a charcoal and acrylics class in a week or so, what ever that means, abstract, go with the flow, maybe a bit of direction….

    hi jenny

yeah, I really just sit down and paint-often!

I am sometimes compelled by an inner unseen art work. Often, I am drawn to it (haha) then begin and look at what’s forming and decide. At each stage I reassess. eg begin w shape n maybe colour, change my mind, overlay, rebuild

…fish are a reoccurring theme: though there are many here. In my early 20’s I was ALWAYS drawing them…(hehe, more puns) a sea of fish have been recreated.

I have an encyclopedia of them I sometimes use, I drew those, put them on shiny material, did an underwater mural, got wood fish shapes cut out and had them hanging over the mural…they didn’t last long-people wanted souvenirs!

thanks Mark! I didn’t know that fish was there when I began painting either! It had camouflaged it self well until the end!
