Oh so country
I have done a few O’s.
.
I felt like it
.
this O is from the country and likes long grass, sunsets on the balcony and a refreshing itself in the river when it’s hot. It’s scared of eels and if you mention them, its mouth and eyes look round. O is then so glad to be on dry land.
.
It also likes gossip but O is very shocked and would never do that itself.
.
Oh yes. O is well behaved.
.
as you can see, O is in need of a paint job, though was once fresh like galvanized corrogated iron

Love the 3D effect (and the story!)

I really like this one Sam. I can’t say why – I’m terrible at explaining why I like art sometimes – but have come back to it 3 times now.
Samantha Van S...
thanks sara.
Yeah, I do too. It’s different from the others, and a bit brighter for the screen (rather than real life) It’s less city, more country! But it’s on fire as well-raw and wild, refined and pleasant mannered.
I get asked if I’m from the country occasionally because I’m ‘so friendly’. (and then I meet redneck attitudes and realize how city I am! -why don’t they tolerate refugees? -why does it seem ‘so busy’, ie too busy here? there’s lots of stuff happening!) I digress.
Perhaps to go technical-it does have a sense of fore ground, middle ground, background (depth), it’s very touchy feely and the colours are nice and light-very feminine. the pattern in the background reminds me of fabric -remembering we are in bridal mode! (3months to go til the big day)
I really love these colours-they’ll prob be in the wedding. They’ll walk down the isle with me. They won’t ‘give me away’ but remind people of who I am (like my cover is blown? who needs to be given away like property?!)
I think I’ll go back to painting now!!! see you tomorrow at Gallery 26.
