I’m a creative spirit with a passion for living life to the fullest enjoyment.

You can see what I do here on Redbubble or here to an alternative website (made by webgrrl).

There is lots to see…

Painting

During 2007, early 2008, I painted almost every day.

By that I mean, I woke up at about 6.30 -7 am and (probably while eating), began dabbling on one the many paintings I have on the go. Those efforts saw ensured the success of four exhibitions at both the North Sydney Community Centre and Gallery 26. I sold a number of paintings through there, which was wonderful.

I’ve taken a short break to get married, and am onto a new project in 2008-yet to be revealed.

I do get out (sometimes!) to experience the benefit of other roles; teaching, tutoring and gathering inspiration.

Painting’s a shared passion with photography, which I do every other day-they are about equal.

I’ve been creating art for a long time, and finished studies at both TAFE and uni (COFA) in 1998. Both art and teaching are in the family: my father a teacher and mother a ‘crafty’, with uncles being photographers and artists also.

As a painter, I love abstract landscape, colour and a sense of nature. I’ve also explored notions of spirituality, the interior spaces of self and how we live with symbolism as a reflection of ourselves.

Photos

As a photographer, I’m mostly a straight shooter. I like to get great images in camera, via good lighting, location and angles. Occasionaly, I like use photoshop-but you’d never notice.

The subjects I photograph vary, but people, places, and the sublime all catch my eye. I’ve always loved doing portraits best out of all. The most precious is my 3year old niece! The aim is for photos to convey a sense of the gentle spirit within.

See some examples; kids, clouds and flowers -all the ‘soft’ subjects!). Plus nature
and Weddings/fashion

Most notably, the Eurythymics as far as bands.

My tastes are always evolving though and as you can see, at the moment, my sensibilities are stronger and bolder than ever before. Something for everyone to enjoy.

So, please, enjoy the art , in all its various guises.

Feel free to welcome it into your own home, as a picture on the wall, send it on a card to a friend or wear it loud and proud on a t-shirt.

Thanks for visiting!

elements of design 2-line

in the last entry, I told you to create texture-variety of texture. (now this is is not designed to be a comprehensive art lesson-it’s haphazard but logical) now, we’re talking painting…

Having done the hsc, become a teacher (of sorts) and being full of opinion, I begin to write as an example to those a similar trail. The idea is that I’ll write something, they can respond and so fo…
