Stepping Out
Yellow alstroemeria flower…. these little blooms are one of my favorites…can you tell?
To fully appreciate the textures and details… This is best viewed large…. :D
(little bit of background information on how I created this image: My kitchen window is the perfect place for natural light…. It streams in onto my kitchen table. So what I did was I got a white piece of posterboard and secured it behind the vase that this flower was in..and made sure that the paper curved around the vase..so that it also created a shadow, as well as the background. I placed a blue piece of material directly underneath the vase and paper so that when I rotated the vase and paper toward the window and the incoming sunlight…it not only created a shadow..but also reflected and tinted the shadow to the subtle blue that you see. That combined with a mini tripod and some prayers that the kids didnt come running up is how this image was born… It sounds complicated….but just start experimenting with reflecting light and creating natural shadows..and you will be suprised what you can do.)
