I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw this photo. I actually painted the 3 tipis in view… I just returned home (August 17th) after delivering the two front ones and haven’t seen them up until now! What a wonderful surprise! Did you stop in and meet Charles or Mike?

  • sunchaser replied

Kate, Really??? How awesome to hear from you! No, we were just driving by and I had to stop and take a couple shots. They wer so gorgeous. What an honor to hear from you. :-)

We didn’t stop in. Just enjoyed them from the road.

What a wonderful happy surprise. My daughter painted these tipis, I didn’t get the chance to see them as we live several states apart. I must say, both of you girls are awesome and I enjoy your work and thank you. WOO HOO.

Mandolin, I am happy you got to see them. They must have put them up right away. I took the photos on my birthday. We have a tradition of driving somewhere on my birthday so that I can enjoy my photography, so these beautiful tipis were a treat to find! They worked out perfectly for digital painting and the sky was perfect that evening.

Wow…wonderful picture of the beautiful artwork my sister was able to share with these people… she is one of the most generous and talented persons this world will ever know and you have beautifully captured some of her wonderful works.
thank you for sharing this with all of us!

  • sunchaser replied

Ilene. Yes, it was a strange coincidence that I came across them, apparently not long after they were put up! They were beautiful in the evening light.

Should have known this was yours…lol… another amazing capture of a great cultural sight. I simply love this… an instant fav… xox Rosemaree

  • sunchaser replied

Thanks Rosemaree. :-) Felt lucky to happen upon these tipis at the right time of day.

And it was even more exciting to find out that the actual tipis were painted by a fellow “Red Bubbler” (Kate Purdy – see above) who saw this image and wrote to me. The world is small!

Great shot! What kind of effect did you apply to the photo for the painted look?? Looks awesome. (Also, very cool you happened to find my mom’s tipis and take a photo of them!... AND thanks for the comments on my photos ;))

  • sunchaser replied

Trenton, I use a variety of digital painting techniques when working on these images…textures, layers, brushes…..It looked stunning without any treatment too. Glad you liked it! :-)
