Last Night You Broke My Heart

How do you illustrate how a lonely night is when you are feeling misunderstood and unloved…...I don’t like nights like that….they make me feel so afraid…on the edge between life and death…..like a bad dream….....trying to grasp onto life but slipping toward the cold, unwielding darkness…life is too short to feel that kind of anguish….. I dread the sorrow that fills my heart when anger grabs hold of love and throws it into the shadows of a cold musty corner bruised and aching…..please don’t treat me like that …my heart is so fragile…don’t leave me here in the darkness….I am so cold here all by myself.

We all have a darker side. I would rather see people deal with their hurt this way. :-)

I didn’t until you mentioned it in the description :)
I think it helps with the overall natural and organic feel to the piece though. The whole thing is quite exceptional.

Interesting reflections. I think that most of us feel rejected and mis understood. I think it is a reflection on human nature and how we are so protective and precious about our individual weakness. We tend to pretend we are strong when inside we are hurt. This just creates seperation on so many levels. If we were all more transparent then I believe life would be more fulfilling and rejection and confusion would drop substantially.

  • sunchaser replied

Isn’t that the truth, Tony? I try to voice my inner thoughts. Not always vocally, but at least on paper. If nothing else it makes me feel better! Somehow it is easier on paper!

I also put things down on parer. I have a daily journal and use it to get to the deepest truths of any emotional or situational confusion that I may have. From there I find that I calm down almost immediately and also gain a greater knowledge of self, life and others.

I love my little book of ideas and thoughts. It is there I write my ideas for future art and photography projects. I have been carrying it for years and sit down often and page through it. I always find the inspiration to get on track if my creativity seems to be suffering!

How lovely! It is a lonely image, but somehow the stars promise hope. And, I must admit, generally I think the bare branches of trees represent strength. I love winter for letting me see the identity and character they hide beneath leaves for most of the year. Lonely, yes … but filled with promise this image is (oh, heh … shades of Yoda here, sorry).

  • sunchaser replied 29 days ago

There has to be hope even on your darkest day. I agree with you. Although I dream of living with my bare feet in the sand gazing out to sea, I would miss the opportunity of experiencing the stark beauty of winter. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, Karenee.
