These little birds certainly do enjoy discovering an unfrozen birdbath on a snowy winter day. Look at all that happy splashing! They keep the humans busy refilling it, trying to keep the heating coil under water. The electric ring has a thermostat to keep the water just above freezing, after all we wouldn’t want to cook them. The wire/cord goes over the back of the birdbath and plugs into the same outlet in my garden as my Japanese lantern.
