These little birds certainly do enjoy discovering an unfrozen birdbath. Look at all that happy splashing! They keep the humans busy refilling it, trying to keep the heating coil under water. The electric ring has a thermostat to keep the water just above freezing, after all we wouldn’t want to cook them. The wire/cord goes over the back of the birdbath and plugs into the same outlet in my garden as my Japanese lantern.
