A sprinkling of rain two hours earlier produced a cloudy late April sunset over Ocracoke Island Harbor. Suddenly the sun broke through the clouds creating a path of golden light.
Ocracoke Island is part of the chain of islands that form the Outer Banks (also known as OBX), a 200-mile (320-km) long string of narrow barrier islands off the coast of North Carolina, USA.
