Chincoteague Island, Virginia, (USA) seems to have the perfect climate for growing roses, and many people living there have taken advantage of this. In May, yards are filled with a beautiful display of color. Roses of all sizes and types can be seen. This rose, a combination of red and yellow, is only partly opened. Here it appears as an old fashioned velvet painting.
This rosebud is the cover image for a CALENDAR called Flower Works ~ Nature Enhanced
All of the flowers in this calendar have a little extra something, some form of manipulation that makes them unique.
Canon EOS REBEL T1i, Canon Zoom Lens EF-S 18-55mm.
Edited in Corel Paint Shop Pro. Texture layers from Brenda Starr and from Muffet on Flickr as well as
one from Shadowhouse and one of my own have been blended and used here.
Season: May 15th, spring.
