This fascinating street, located in the city of St. Augustine, Florida (USA) is part of a large walking and shopping area. Most of the buildings here are ancient, and the old “Grist Mill” on the left looks about ready to fall down. This structure houses an eating area on the top floor and below (opening onto this street) is “Hats, Hats, and More Hats”. The couple in the photo possibly came out of this shop, since both are wearing hats. ☺
This street is called Fort Alley, most likely because Castillo de San Marcos (1672), the oldest masonry fort in the United States, can be seen ahead of this couple.
St. Augustine has already celebrated its 450th birthday.
