A pretty bunch of crocuses has been aged and darkened with textures to become an “attic treasure”. This sort of painting, framed and displayed in the parlor, was done by young ladies 90 years ago. Then came the 1950s and the desire for everything “modern”. Today, modern seems boring and uniform. There is now an appreciation for the unique and the handmade item. This gives value to grungy, one of a kind art. A crocus is a crocus, but a grungy crocus has character. ♥

Edited in Corel Paint Shop Pro. Texture courtesy of ghostbones on Flickr.
Canon EOS REBEL T1i, Canon Zoom Lens EF-S 18-55mm.
Location: These flowers were growing in Harkness State Park in the town of Waterford in Connecticut USA.
