Bourbon is a type of American whiskey – a distilled spirit made primarily from corn (maize). The name derives from its historical association with an area known as Old Bourbon, around what is now Bourbon County, Kentucky. While it may be made anywhere in the United States, it is strongly associated with Kentucky.
On May 4, 1964, the United States Congress recognized Bourbon Whiskey as a “distinctive product of the United States.” Only whiskey produced in the USA can be called bourbon.

We were on the “Bourbon Trail” in KY recently and of the 5 distilleries we visited, the sample from this one tasted the best. This is the style of glass they offered in their gift shop, a surprise to me. I took many photos there, but this shot is in my home. I can read the fine print on the label at full size, but not here on RB. The “legs” (trickles) inside the glass are authentic and were unavoidable. I believe they indicate quality anyway. Thanks so much for this feature!! I no longer have a full bottle! lol
