Mushroom ~ On a Sandy Path by SummerJade

This pretty little mushroom was growing close beside one of the nature pathways on the grounds of the St. Augustine Lighthouse. You can see the foot traffic managed to kick some sand upon it, but no one had stepped on it when I spotted it in the leaves. It probably wasn’t damaged (yet) because the splits in the cap were fairly evenly spaced. The leaf leaning against it gave it a touch of magic.

    Beautiful color on that mushroom!

  • Thanks, yes that’s why I noticed it! Like a candy apple coating….possibly means it’s poisonous. I didn’t touch it. ☺
