Pelicans are everywhere along the Indian River. They know that fishermen often leave unwanted fish and pieces of fish behind, and they are always hoping for an easy meal. This photo was taken in Indialantic, Florida (USA). The pier is on the Indian River which is part of the Intercoastal Waterway. The city of Melbourne, Florida can be seen in the distance on the far side of the river.

The pelican, the pelican,
His beak can hold more than his belly can.
(or so I was told when I was a child.)
